A killer s kiss, the barrel of a gun, A million dead or merely the heart of one. One more horrific then the other but still all useless. Every time something doesn t go our way, It falls victim to the plague of all humanity: Our senses sealed, our weapons out, another dead in the name of one, Of one God, of one truth, of one soul, of one drug, of one gun. We never learn... All of this in the name of one. Whole worlds torn from the inside. I won t blame the sky or artificial highs; I won t blame the symptom. We are the disease, none of us are exempt, we re all guilty. How can we sleep at night? When a million cries echo through our homes and perfect ears? When a friend s heart lay bloody and we re holding the shears? To live is to give and take, it is to bend not break. Why can t we learn? Why can t we let go?
